
Robert Meya is a passionate environmentalist dedicated to sustainable development and biodiversity conservation through community involvement.
His experience in community mobilization, project development and implementation, contribution in policy framework formulation activities have developed in him a passion to see a breakdown of the complex scientific data into consumable information in the grassroots. With a background in education (Geography and Environmental Studies major) from the University of Nairobi, Meya champions grassroots initiatives that empower communities to protect natural ecosystems, incorporating nature-based solutions, transgenerational knowledge sharing and storytelling.
He has led reforestation projects, advocated for climate justice, and collaborated with NGOs and other players to promote co-existence of nature and people. Meya’s work bridges science, policy, and activism, aiming to create a healthier planet for future generations.
He is the current Communications Team Lead at Africa Climate and Environment Foundation (ACEF) and the Project Lead at Ondiri Wetland Botanic Gardens.
